Stealing Buddha's Dinner by Bich Minh Nguyen

The Great Michigan Read 2009-2010

The Michigan Humanities Council has selected Bich Minh Nguyen's Stealing Buddha's Dinner for the 2009-2010 Great Michigan Read. Stealing Buddha's Dinner is a memoir that chronicles the author's migration from Vietnam in 1975 and her coming of age in Grand Rapids in the 1980's. We invite you all to join us in reading the book and participate in the related programs scheduled this fall.

Fall Knitting Circle

Monday, September 28th - November 30th @ 6:30pm

Join us on Monday evenings for our 10 week fall knitting circle. Bring your own project or show your library card at Heritage Spinning and Weaving in the Village of Lake Orion and get 15% off any of the special "OTPL Knitting Circle" kits (yarn and pattern) during September and October. Our knitting circle is ideal for any level on knitter, but basic knitting skills are required as this is not an instructional class. Please contact Adult Services at 248-693-3001 to register.
