Volunteers participate in a 13 week training program each fall/winter. Volunteers then provide 40 hours of community service gardening education. Master Composters are volunteers trained by Michigan State University Extension. Volunteers participate in a 6 week training program each fall/winter. Volunteers then provide 15 hours of community service gardening education. | ||||||

MGSP is voluntary, locally driven and designed to address the concerns of individuals by maintaining a focus on the financial and technical constraints which drive real world decisions. The program is funded through fees that are assessed on sales of pesticides and nitrogen fertilizers. | ||||||
