The General Federation of Women's Clubs is the largest and the oldest non-denominational, non-partisan, international service organization of the volunteer women in the world. 1990 marked the centennial year of the federation.
Ongoing projects include: Girlstown Foundation, Veterans Hospital, Day in the Country, Adopt a Teacher Program, Plant Sale, Bake Sale, and Christmas party.
We also assist the Orion Township Public Library, Historical Society, and the Orion/Oxford Boys and Girls Club when requested. |

| Square Lake Cemetery Association

Square Lake Cemetery is located on Joslyn Road one-quarter mile north of Clarkston Road, next to the Orion Township Public Library. Originally a burial ground for the loved ones of early settlers, it was established in 1866 and is still an active cemetery, governed by a board of directors, most of whom own burial plots there. The cemetery is committed to offering to the Orion community an affordable place of eternal rest among pleasant, well-maintained surroundings “under tall pines”. The recently developed East Addition offers almost a thousand burial spaces available for interested purchasers. Organized as the Square Lake Cemetery Association, all purchasers of burial rights automatically become members of the Association and have the opportunity to vote on questions at the membership meeting every July. The Cemetery is a non-profit, tax-exempt entity, and welcomes donations and bequests. For additional information, please call the above phone number. |
