Fathers for Equal Rights of America

We are an educational and informational organization which answers questions about the Judicial-Legal System with regards to the family court arena, social service arena and any other area where individuals need to know their rights. We provide public speaking lectures upon request. We provide crisis intervention and counseling on both legal and mental health levels. The issues that we deal with are divorce, custody, child support, visitation denial, unwed parental rights and false personal protection orders. Fathers for Equal Rights of America meet once a month of the third Wednesday at 7:30 PM.




Foster Grandparents

Foster Grandparents are used to serve teen parents, children who have been abused and/or neglected, children with developmental disabilities Boarder babies, terminally and/or chronically ill children, juvenile offenders, and physically and/or emotionally, or mentally impaired children. Grandparents provide an added dimension of wisdom and experience to their assigned children.

The General Federation of Women's Clubs is the largest and the oldest non-denominational, non-partisan, international service organization of the volunteer women in the world. 1990 marked the centennial year of the federation. Ongoing projects include: Girlstown Foundation, Veterans Hospital, Day in the Country, Adopt a Teacher Program, Plant Sale, Bake Sale, and Christmas party. We also assist the Orion Township Public Library, Historical Society, and the Orion/Oxford Boys and Girls Club when requested.

The purpose of Civitan is to serve the community. This is done by fulfilling human needs that are not met by other organizations or by individual efforts. Needs that are best met through organized group action are prime candidates for Civitan service projects. Lake Orion Horseshoe Club

The Lake Orion Horseshoe Club (LOHC) promotes the recreational sport of horseshoe pitching and has served the community for over 40 years. Organized leagues play on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 from May to August. Play is singles competition and is handicapped for fairness. The cost is $35 for the season or $5 per night. Lake Orion Girl Scouts currently have 59 troops servicing 588 girl scouts of all age levels encompassing 7 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and the Lake Orion High School as well as 2 private schools.
