Park Facilities                           back to top
(Map) (Facility & Field Use Information)

Friendship Park, 3380 W. Clarkston Road, Hours: 8:00 a.m. to Dusk - Get together with family and friends at this 137 acre park. There is a majestic children's play structure, two full-size soccer fields, four baseball/softball fields, walking paths, and open space. The historic Porritt Barn (formerly located at the SW corner of Silverbell and M-24) was relocated to Friendship Park in 2000. We also have a beautiful Gazebo and a Pondless Waterfall.

Friendship Park Pavilion - The pavilion was an idea that started in 1999, and was completed in 2002. It was designed with the residents of Orion Township and surrounding areas in mind. The main features of the building include indoor bathrooms, a family bathroom, office space, kitchen area, meeting room and an outdoor pavilion with grills. Contact us for a rental reservation package and rates.

Civic Center Park, 2525 Joslyn Road, Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. - Come over and play on our cool ADA accessible playground complete with a Dragon slide. Join a sports league and utilize the park's seven soccer fields and four baseball/softball fields. We also have a sand volleyball court and two basketball courts. Picnic areas and grills are available for a summer get-together. The park also has a walking path and nature trail, perfect for a morning or evening jog.

Sheardy Pavilion in Civic Center Park - Rent the Sheardy Pavilion for your next outdoor event such as a birthday party, baby shower, or family reunion. Dates available are Monday-Sunday during the months of May-October. Contact us for a rental reservation package and rates.

McConnell Field (McConnell Road) - This is a great place to pick up a game of baseball or to just practice your pitch!

Gingell Nature Area, Maybee & Grafton Roads - This 40 acre wetland area is currently undeveloped. Future plans include adding an observation deck and trails for viewing wildlife.

Paint Creek Trail - This 10 mile trail begins in the Lake Orion area and runs through Orion and Oakland Townships to Rochester Hills and Rochester. It is perfect for hiking, jogging, riding a bike, horseback riding and observing nature. For the fisherman in your family, the trail follows Paint Creek, which is a designated Trout Stream.
